Chapter Text
Interlude – Adventurers (Pt. 2) The other Hobgoblin was male, and he got a fourth elbow to the guts because he was Mountain City tribe…and he was reading a damn book. At work! He closed it with a grunt and scowled—but he would often be reading in a corner. Unlike Peggy, this Goblin, Inkpaper, was a known slacker in the Flooded Waters tribe. Rags…somewhat approved of him, but had still given him to be Erin’s headache anyways.
Interlude – Adventurers (Pt. 3) That was background, of course. By the time Lyonette came downstairs, the two siblings were already moving around Goblins and Antinium showing up to work. Peggy was dragging Inkpaper out of Erin’s new, and tiny, library.
Interlude – Beginnings Why, when she woke up, she might encounter Yelroan or Jewel and recall they were now part of the inn. Or find Inkpaper hiding in a spare room, reading a book until Peggy found him and hit him and made him work.
Interlude – Beginnings Peggy, the Hobgoblin with one peg-leg, was also on a mission from Chieftain Rags. This wasn’t retirement, and she wasn’t just being shuffled off because of her wounds. Rags had sent some Goblins with odd traits like Inkpaper, but she had also warned Peggy that Erin needed saving at times.
9.41 (Pt. 3) Inkpaper was not a helpful Goblin, nor even a good, friendly one. So Peggy had made him wash used mugs with a basin of soap and water. He called out as Halrac looked around for a familiar face.
9.41 (Pt. 3) Inkpaper had clearly forgotten his name, and his description for Halrac was broadly accurate. The Gold-rank Captain just stared.
Interlude – Trade and Travel Ishkr handed the mop to Peggy, who passed it to Inkpaper, who did sigh authentically. Nanette was bouncing up and down, but she bowed to Seve.
9.48 BTIPRLJMWVRV “That Antinium with silver antennae did a better job. Inkpaper cleans tables, and he never does the underside. Lazy.”
9.55 (Pt. 1) “Only—wait, Peggy and Inkpaper—only five regularly? But a lot more visit.”
9.55 (Pt. 2) Nanette was nodding rapidly as her earnest face screwed up in thought, and she looked delighted to be part of this moment. The people outside, though, were missing out, and Erin requested a drink for her sore throat. Inkpaper handed her a cup of water and someone tried to trot in; Erin slammed the sand walls in front of Charlay’s face.
9.60 “You spat on the floor in front of Inkpaper.”
9.60 “What, this? It’s just a pan. I want an apology for Inkpaper.”
9.60 “Sorry, Inkpaper. I told them off, and they shouldn’t do it again, but they’re still in the inn. Can you—can you bear with it for a bit?”
9.65 “Ten, nine, eight, seven…where’s Inkpaper?…uh…”
9.67 (Pt. 1) More undead were trying to get into the side stairs, but Inkpaper and smaller Goblins were ramming a table into the way, screaming, as Peggy and the four [Knights] tried to bring the Draugr to a standstill.
