Interlude – Carriages and Conversations “Is that Karsy? Hey there!”
Interlude – Carriages and Conversations Karsaeu-Dequoa. That is enough of my name for you.”
7.44 The Djinni, Karsaeu-Dequoa, or Karsy if you were Termin, gave Ryoka and Fierre a huge, pained smile. She was half-bowed, the front of the coach open.
7.44 The Djinni, Karsaeu-Dequoa, or Karsy if you were Termin, gave Ryoka and Fierre a huge, pained smile. She was half-bowed, the front of the coach open.
7.44 The three sat back. Mindful of Fierre’s words, Ryoka sat back as the Unmarked Coach trundled forwards. She eyed the magical food and knew it was made of Karsy—or her magic—but she couldn’t help herself.
7.44 Fierre and Ryoka nodded. They looked around. Karsy was already closing the door to the carriage.
Solstice (Pt. 8) “Also a Djinni. Karsaeu-Dequoa wants to tell you that she misses you.”
Interlude – Paradigm Shift (Pt. 1) Later that day, hours later, Karsaeu-Dequoa was checking her internal clock. Her master, whom she would fain see dead, was smart enough to have ordered her to go after him if enough time had elapsed.
Interlude – Paradigm Shift (Pt. 1) Karsy! What’s the matter? Don’t you recognize me?”
9.02 “…Nicknames. Nicknames? Ah, got one. You haven’t met her, and you’d better be on your best behavior around her. No weird questions. Not around Karsy.”
9.02 Karsy?”
9.02 “Her nickname’s…Karsaeu the Unmarked. She rolls the Unmarked Coach, and you don’t ever trouble her or her passengers. Who else has a stupid name? Oh—Chaoisa, the Contempt of Man.”
9.38 TV (Pt. 2) “And we have three of the old crew in the same place. Come on, Karsy. At least look at Rhaldon. He’ll be a big roller, mark my words.”
9.38 TV (Pt. 2) Karsaeu the Unmarked. She had brown skin but pale white hair—though her appearance changed sometimes. She sat, hunched over, chewing on the bread. When Termin nudged her, she glared.
9.38 TV (Pt. 2) Termin was just about to have Rhaldon report on the road and how he’d sequestered the goods, whether Chaoisa and Karsy liked it or not, when a thunderous rapping came at the door to the back rooms where the [Drivers] sat.
9.38 TV (Pt. 2) “I am looking for Karsaeu the Unmarked! I have a job for the Unmarked Coach.”
9.38 TV (Pt. 2) “I don’t know where I’m going. But I know who. I need you to catch the Archmage of Izril, Karsaeu-Dequoa. She’s in the air heading north, and even the Wind Runner of Izril can’t catch up. I need you to get me right to her.”
9.38 TV (Pt. 2) A woman was standing on the front of a stagecoach. Karsaeu the Unmarked wore the same clothing, black on black, a billowing coat blown open by the winds, exposing a white undershirt. She had a tophat on her head that any Brother of Serendipitous Meetings would respect—
9.38 TV (Pt. 2) Karsaeu-Dequoa laughed until she was nearly sick. She dropped Fierre and Valeterisa—gently. The first thing both Vampire and Archmage did was throw up.
10.40 T Karsaeu-Dequoa. Take me south at all speed. Along the westernmost cities. We shall stop once at Manus; then towards the New Lands. I shall require transport to the region of the Bloodfields soon, so do not stray far.”
10.40 T The head barely turned to give the Djinni the merest flick of Nerrhavia’s peripherals. Without a word, Karsy pulled her cap low and set the carriage to such speed they were away from the Drake city in moments. Toren sat with the other members of Nerrhavia’s entourage as Maviola bounced up and down in her seat, happy.
10.41 T Still, Deimos thought Toren was having the time of his life. The skeleton lifted a hand, and Rafaema exhaled as Karsy swung the cudgel at his face. His shield flashed—then overloaded in front of the spell, and the skeleton stumbled. The cudgel swung into his armor, and the Djinni blinked.
