The first was that [Aspect of Iron] made her skin change color. Or rather—it looked as if she had been dipped in a coating of iron. Her nose, her eyes, her flesh covered by a layer of armor perfectly molded to her features.
I think I broke every bone in my body. But she did sit up—which proved her [Aspect of Iron] worked. Yvlon Byres stared back—and she saw a figure four hundred feet away with dirty blonde fur, turning grey, throw back his head and laugh.
Nevertheless, Colth tensed, heaved as he spun Yvlon, and—[Aspect of Iron] and all—hit the invisible enemy with Yvlon like she was a giant ball of metal.
They hit each other again. Yvlon’s [Aspect of Iron] wore off, but now they were running. Next came a series of lances that Bograms had altered to stab hard enough to ram through metal.
She whistled, and a horse delicately picked its way through the gates and trotted over to her. Yvlon was panting; her [Aspect of Iron] morphed back to flesh.
She was capable of moments of extraordinary, impossible feats. Like her [Aspect of Iron], which allowed her to charge into a storm of arrows or whatever she wanted and survive. It was a crazy Skill that Silver-rank Yvlon would have wet herself to fight against.
She’d kicked Yvlon so hard her blow had deformed Yvlon’s stomach—then she’d had to bend Yvlon back before the [Aspect of Iron] wore out. What would have happened if Yvlon had morphed back with a giant footprint in her stomach…
The [Hero] of Zethe could read minds and hearts. When he gripped his sword with two hands, he could tell that the Horns were spreading out and even got the battle-plan; they’d open up with a volley that was a feint for a four-person charge into close-range melee. Ceria would activate [Stoneskin] and Yvlon her [Aspect of Iron] Skill; they’d literally take him to the ground and ‘Bograms’ him.
